Fishing IN Bora bora - Whats the best season to Fish?

Bora Bora is world famous for its stunning beauty and over water bungalows. But little do people know, that the fishing there is also very good with  one of the largest marlin captures known to man was caught just a few miles from Bora Bora's  fringing reef.

The story is legend now and a visit to the market in Raiatea will allow you to see the photo that is a shrine on the wall. The marlin was said to weigh 1400kg.

Bora Bora is a year round fishery. Blue Marlin, Yellowfin Tuna, Wahoo and Mahi Mahi frequent the waters surrounding the Jewel in the pacific. The odd big black marlin is also caught each year.

Fishing will generally start as you exit the pass, the reef drops away into the abyss and the predators like Blue Marlin and Yellowfin Tuna are often found just wide of the pass.

Trolling lures is the method of choice, so sit back and enjoy the comfort on SeaWolf with her Gyro-stabiliser and air conditioning and let the crew take great care of you.

For the Deep Drop enthusiast, SeaWolf is equiped with two 24v LP reels. A quick drop down to the inky depths surrounding Bora Bora can yield some very tasty table fish, such as Red Snapper, Pomfrets and the ever succulent Alfonsino.

Casting Poppers and Jigging along the reef edge can yield Giant Trevally and other reef species.

Bora Bora is one of the most stunning islands on the planet and to truly appreciate its beauty, one must take a step back and admire, which is easily achieved onboard SeaWolf while she cruises the lagoon and surrounding waters.
